Kristopher Roy was born in West Monroe, LA, in 1978. He received a BS in Computer Information Systems from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2002. In 2005 he received his BFA in Graphic Design from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, his MA in Graphic Design from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2007, and his MFA from Louisiana Tech University in 2010.
He is interested in creating design with purpose. His purpose may be to educate or to expose critical errors of thought process. He enjoys having the viewer mentally escape into his work to find something to hold onto that will encourage them to investigate knowledge more then they are used to. His designs incorporates logical thinking to help give the viewer an idea of what is the right and wrong way to decipher information.
As an educator, he hopes to push his students to step outside of their classroom setting and look for inspirations to help motivate them as designers. He believes a designer’s strive for improvement starts with his surroundings.
He now lives in Natchitoches, LA and is working as a freelance graphic designer.
